Awards & Certification

Cornerstone Construction has been recognised through numerous awards, as a company which has the ability to deliver excellence.

Cornerstone received the top prize in the Heritage Category of The Opus Awards for The Island Crematorium project (see Portfolio). The Awards concept is based on a holistic approach to promote architectural design and build quality that rises above pure utility, beyond basic construction, to combine all that is practical and necessary within a building that is meaningful, humane and beautiful. It also recognises and publicly acknowledges excellence in building construction that combines management and team work with workmanship, ingenuity and performance against programme.

Cornerstone received an Architectural Excellence award from The Cobh Chamber of Commerce. This was awarded for restoration of Carrig House (see Portfolio). This award recognises the importance of preserving the Architectural integrity of landmark buildings on the island of Cobh.

Cornerstone believes in the importance of Continuous Development for all our employees. Many of our forepersons have attended Dublin Civic Trust Heritage Joinery workshops in order to continuously improve the skills and knowledge which back up our extensive knowledge base of heritage buildings.

A number of our Managers are members of the Irish Georgian Society, regularly attending lectures and seminars regarding the history and heritage of Ireland’s old buildings.
